San Jose's top cop retiring

San Jose Police Chief Rob Davis has announced he will retire in October.
Davis has led the 1,300-member police force since 2004.
His retirement coincides with his 30th anniversary as a San Jose police officer, meaning he will have maximized his pension.
Earlier this year Davis was a finalist for the police chief's job in Dallas.
He is also rumored to have applied for the Los Angeles police chief's job in 2009.
