Facebook responds to lawsuit

PALO ALTO -- Facebook officials are calling the latest claim of an ownership stake in the web's most popular site "absurd". According to reports, Facebook creator Mark Zuckerburg says he never signed a contract to give Paul Ceglia 84% of Facebook, because he hadn't thought of Facebook when he was working with Ceglia.

Zuckerburg admits to working on Ceglia's website when he was in his late teens. Ceglia filed suit against Zuckerburg eallier this month, claiming to have a contract signed by Zuckerburg. However, Facebook attorneys say they believe the contract is a forgery.

Facebook has settled other ownership claims with some former Harvard classmates of Zuckerburg's.
