11 people arrested in child porn sting



    SAN JOSE -- A sting operation was announced by San Jose police following the arrest of 11 people for possessing and transmitting child pornography. The six-week investigation culminated last Thursday as officers raided numerous locations looking for images and videos of young children being sexually and violently abused.

    Nine men, a woman and a 17-year-old boy are currently facing felony possession child pornography but more charges could be pending.

    Deputy Chief Dave Hober said they used special techniques to search the internet for evidence of crimes but that parents need to help protect their children from exploitation as well.

    Detective Kendra Nunez was among the lead investigators and said the children who were victimized were under 12-years-old.  She said they want to find all the victims as soon as possible, so that they can be directed to resources that can help them.
