Home prices may have turned a corner in Santa Clara County
SANTA CLARA COUNTY - The housing market in Silicon Valley is showing signs of improvement.
New data out this week from the Santa Clara County Association of Realtors shows the average sales price of homes in the region was 22% higher in February, compared to the average price this time last year.
Meanwhile, the number of houses on the market fell to just 4,852 last month -- nearly 29% lower than the same time period in 2009.
The association says the market is moving in a positive direction, with fewer homes selling for more money.
