SILICON VALLEY -- Security experts have zeroed in on a ring of Chinese hackers who hit Google and a group of other companies.
The hackers were reportedly based out of two schools in China, and had been targeting companies much earlier than previously thought -- possibly as far back as April 2009.
The New York Times reports the hackers may have built software that stole proprietary information from dozens of Fortune 100 companies.
Google did not comment on the report.
The company threatened to halt its operations in China following the attacks, which were made public earlier this year.
