More flights added at SJC

SAN JOSE -- For the second time in about a week, new flights have been announced at Mineta San Jose International Airport. Horizon Airlines says it will begin flying twice daily to Spokane Washington. One flight will be non-stop, the other will make a stop in Sacramento.

The news comes just a week after Alaska Airlines announced it was adding flights from San Jose to the Hawaiian Islands.

Spokesman David Vossbrink says Horizon's announcement is promising. He says airport officials are keeping their fingers crossed that this is another sign that the airlines are becoming more confident about the future.

The new Horizon service will begin in March.
