CAMPBELL -- Two people were hurt in a pedestrian accident near Forest Hill Elementary School in Campbell Tuesday afternoon. A man was walking his 7-year-old grandson home from school on McCoy Avenue a few blocks from San Tomas Aquino Road when they were struck by a car.
Campbell Police Captain Dave Carmichael said the driver stayed on scene and it's uncertain if there would be any charges filed. He said that intersection has caused concern before. He said the city had announced plans years ago to put a stop light up in the area, but a large number of people living in the area expressed concerns about the presence of the traffic light, so the project was scrapped.
