Study: Mineta among the best in the nation for on-time flights
SAN JOSE -- San Jose's Mineta International Airport has fewer delayed flights than nearly any other major airport in the nation.
That's according to researchers at the Brookings Institute, who studied how long flights were delayed in the nation's 100 biggest metro areas.
Here in San Jose, roughly 84 percent of flights arrive on time, and the average flight delay is just 47 minutes.
That's enough to rank the airport third best in the nation for on-time arrivals.
In contrast, just 75 percent of flights arrive on time at SFO and Oakland International, and the average flight delay there is an hour -- enough to rank those airports 88th in the nation.
