Newark Memorial High School put on lockdown for gun search
NEWARK -- Newark Memorial High School was put on lockdown yesterday, after police arrested a 16-year-old boy carrying a loaded handgun near the campus.
Officers searched the school as a precaution, but said they didn't find any evidence to suggest the teenager intended to shoot anyone at the school.
Nervous parents were forced to wait for several hours as police conducted a room-by-room search.
