SAN JOSE -- San Jose police officers may have prevented a workplace shooting at the California Waste Solutions recycling center.
Police arrested a man on his way to a grievance hearing after being fired. He was allegedly carrying a loaded gun in his boot.
Police were tipped off by 50-year-old Guadalupe Miranda's family in Modesto. Miranda reportedly left his home telling his family that it was the last time they would see him.
The company was made aware of the situation before Miranda was arrested and was told to lock doors and secure all employees.
Police believe the arrest may averted a repeat of a workplace shooting at Santa Clara-based SiPort late year.
