District Attorney removes herself from murder case
SAN JOSE -- Santa Clara County's District Attorney is removing herself from a San Jose murder case, after it was revealed her husband has financial ties to the victim's family.
District Attorney Dolores Carr is answering tough questions today about why she didn't remove herself from the case sooner.
Her husband, a former police officer, was hired as a consultant by an attorney representing the family of Vahid Hosseini in a civil suit.
Hosseini was killed outside a downtown San Jose bank last year during a robbery.
The family is suing the bank.
In comments to the San Jose Mercury News, Carr said she didn't think her husband's connection to the family represented a conflict of interest.
