PALO ALTO -- A San Jose man was injured in a rollover accident last night in Palo Alto. Police say about 7:50pm, the 30-year-old driver was going around 70 miles per hour on Northbound 101 before the Oregon Expressway exit, when he made a sudden turn and rolled over at least twice and ran through a fence to East Bayshore Road.
Firefighters found him with his head between the dashboard and the ground. He was reportedly not wearing a seat belt. However, he was still conscious and breathing.
After the jaws of life were used to get him out, he was taken to Stanford Hospital with head injuries and a number of cuts. Investigators say alcohol was involved and that the driver may face DUI charges after he is released from the hospital.
