SAN JOSE - The Workforce Institute at the San Jose/Evergreen Valley Community College District has received nearly a million dollars in Recovery Act funding from the State.
The funds will be used to help at-risk youth get "green" jobs through training and other means.
School officials say the money is coming at just the right time, as the recession has made it harder and harder for at risk youth to find jobs, as they are competing with so many people who are currently out of work.
The workforce Institute was one of eleven programs across the state to receive Recovery Act funding.
