Gilligan Robber sentenced...

SAN MATEO- Sentencing has been handed down to the man known as the Gilligan Robber.

53-year old Robert Lomas was sentenced to 12-years in prison for murdering his wife and robbing several Bay Area banks.

Lomas got his nickname back in 2007, after wearing a floppy hat similar to Bob Denver's character on Gilligan's Island during the bank robberies.

The Gilligan similarities ended however on May 21, 2007, when Loman's wife was found stabbed to death.

Lomas says he killed her in a rage when he thought she was cheating on him.

Lomas was convicted of voluntary manslaughter and seven counts of felony bank robbery.
With time already served, he could be out of prison within a decade.
