SILICON VALLEY - The worst may be over for Silicon valley's chip industry.

A new report from San Jose-based SIA shows semiconductor sales were up 6.5% in April for the second consecutive month of sequential growth.

Jim Handy with Los Gatos-based Objective Analysis is confident the chip sector has hit bottom and will be in recovery by the end of the year.

The April report from Semiconductor Association says while early spring sales have been better than expected, they are still off 75% from a year ago.
