Electric motorcycle endurance rally headed to San Jose
SAN JOSE -- Hundreds of motorcycle racers are competing in a 24-hour endurance race in downtown San Jose next week, just a stone's throw from dozens of high-priced condos.
But don't worry about the noise -- the racers will be riding electric motorcycles, which are virtually silent and can run up to 2 hours before they need a charge.
A little over 100 racers will compete in teams of 10. They're trying to set a world record for electric motorcycle endurance racing.
The event is being sponsored by a Scotts Valley company called Zero Motorcycles.
