HIGH SPEED RAIL MEETING SCHEDULED FOR SILICON VALLEY

Palo Alto - As efforts continue to build a high-speed rail route from Southern to Northern California, a series of public meetings are being held to provide information about the proposed project. One gathering is scheduled for Thursday night in Palo Alto

So-called "scoping" meetings were previously held around the Peninsula and South Bay. During these meetings, the public was asked for their input. The latest set of meetings will give an outline on the plan to bring a bullet train from San Francisco down through San Jose on its way to Los Angeles. Project managers will be on hand to answer questions after they make their presentation.

The high speed rail has been picking up speed recently after California voters passed a $10 billion bond measure and the newly passed stimulus package included billions for bullet train development.

Thursday night's meeting in Palo Alto begins at 7pm in the Mitchell Park Community Center on Middlefield Road. Another meeting is set for next Wednesday in Redwood City.
