MAN ARRESTED AFTER STANDOFF

San Jose - A 12-hour standoff in San Jose Sunday night ended with an arrest. Police took Charles Brian Crain into custody.

Crain had been wanted for allegedly holding a gun to his girlfriend's head during an argument last Monday. He had eluded officers until Sunday when they spotted his car parked near his duplex in the 5400 block of Drysdale Drive near Blossom Hill Road and Camden Avenue.

SWAT officers threw tear gas canisters into the home to get him out, but when the suspect appeared at the window, they believed he was holding a gun in his hand.

Police then sent in dogs late last night and were able to arrest him without firing a shot.
