San Jose - Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has tapped a local politician to be on the California Air Resources Board. Santa Clara County Supervisor Ken Yeager has been selected to serve on the state's clean air agency.
Yeager is also a current member of the Bay Area Air Quality Management District and the Metropolitan Transportation Commission and was previously a San Jose City Council Member.
The Air Resources Board is made up of 11 members, half of whom come from the science and business sectors and the other half from regional pollution control agencies. The board works toward improving the air quality in the state and coming up with new ways of meeting environmental goals.
Yeager still needs to be confirmed by the state Senate before he officially takes the unpaid position.
