Santa Clara - A baby girl who appears to be the first Bay Area baby born in 2009 arrived in the Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara Medical Center Thursday morning. A hospital spokesperson says the baby, Tara Amiley Holmes, was born at 12:11am and weighs 7 pounds.
It's the first child for 22-year-old Erica Palma and father Tirrell Holmes. Palma had to have a c-section for the delivery. Hospital officials say the baby and mother are doing well.
The second baby of the year was born about 10 minutes later at Stanford Hospital.
