San Jose - The woman charged with killing 12-year-old San Jose resident Breanna Slaughter-Eck in a motor vehicle accident near Hoover Middle School has been arraigned. However, Adrianna Fierro De Marin did not appear in court for the hearing.
De Marin has not been charged with a felony, so she will not be facing state prison time and her presence was not required at the arraignment. She is facing one count of vehicular manslaughter and one count of driving without a license. The maximum penalties for the misdemeanors total one and half years in County Jail and a $1,000 fine.
De Marin allegedly struck Slaughter-Eck\'s bicycle with her Ford Bronco on June 12th, the last day of school, near the school in San Jose\'s Rose Garden neighborhood.
