GOOGLE PLANNING NEW CAMPUS
|
Mountain View - Google is planning to build a brand-new, 310,000 square foot campus in Mountain View. Even though the project remains on hold for now, it offers clues into the company's future expansion plans in the city.
Architectural drawings that were submitted to Mountain View's Planning Department call for an ultra-green campus that integrates orchards, recreational paths, gardens and living roofs into its design. Full Story
The city says the building would become an instant architectural landmark and anchor the company permanently in Silicon Valley.
Google found a team from New York-based ShoP architects to create the designs after a nationwide search. According to the plans, the architecture will evolve over time instead of degrading. There will also be a pedestrian bridge from the building that will go across Shoreline Boulevard.
There has been no word on when construction would begin.
