Mountain View - Google co-founder Sergey Brin & his parents have endowed a professor's chair at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. The $1.5 million donation was given to the University where Brin's mother is being treated for Parkinson's Disease.
Dr. Lisa Schulman has been named the first recipient of the Eugenia Brin Professorship in Parkinson's Disease & Movement Disorders. Schulman says the money will be used to support a five year old database the school has developed on more than a thousand Parkinson's patients.
Brin's mother says she hopes the donation will ultimately help find a cure.
