Cisco: Surprise! It's a server!
SAN JOSE -- San Jose-based Cisco Systems released a brand-new server
today that's 12 times faster than anything that's currently on the
market.
The so-called CRS-3 can deliver up to 322 Terabits of data per second.
The company says that's fast enough for every person in China to simultaneously make a video call.
It's also fast enough to stream every single movie ever produced in less than four seconds.
The company has invested $1.6 billion so far in its line of CRS servers.
Cisco says these servers will serve as the backbone of the next
wave in Internet technology, with superfast connection speeds coming in
the near future.
