San Jose - The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority is getting more than $3 million from the state to go towards its security projects.
The funds come from the State of California Homeland Security under the California Transit Security Grant Program from Proposition 1-B.
Prop 1-B was approved in 2006 and authorized using nearly 20 billion dollars for projects including transit system safety, security and disaster response.
The VTA was also recognized for its security program by the US Department of Homeland Security and Transportation Security Administration.
The VTA was one of five transportation agencies nationwide to be named among the best for its approach and improvement in security development, planning and execution. |
