Study: Sunnyvale college worst in the state for student debt

SUNNYVALE -- A small technical college in Sunnyvale is ranking first on a list of California colleges with the most student debt.

The average student at Sunnyvale's Cogswell Polytechnical College graduates with a little more than $60,000 in debt.

That's more than any other university in the state, including Stanford and Santa Clara University.

On average, California's college students are doing okay nationally when it comes to student debt.

The average student here graduates with roughly $18,000 in debt, about $5,000 less than the national average.
