Santa Clara neighborhood wants to switch school districts
SANTA CLARA -- 261 home owners in Santa Clara's south of Forest neighborhood, near Valley Fair mall, want their neighborhood's children to go to Santa Clara schools.
Currently, children living in the neighborhood attend elementary and middle school in the Campbell Union School District and then high school at Del Mar High School in the Campbell Union High School District.
According to the Campbell Reporter newspaper, the two Campbell districts would lose approximately $1 million a year in funding if the switch occurs.
A County Office of Education committee has until the end of January to decide whether or not to allow the switch.
