WASHINGTON D.C. -- San Jose Mayor Chuck Reed had sharp criticism yesterday for the Obama administration's $787 billion dollar economic stimulus package, saying it's had a "minimal impact" on Silicon Valley.
Reed delivered that message in Washington D.C., at a mayor's forum sponsored by the Brookings Institute.
He told the audience he'd rather see the federal government try to jump-start the economy by investing in private-sector jobs.
San Jose expects to get $79 million in federal stimulus money over the next two years.
