Cupertino - Apple investors breathed a sigh of relief yesterday after the New York Times published a report saying Steve Jobs is apparently free of cancer.
Jobs' health has been a subject of discussion since this year's MacWorld conference, where he appeared on stage thinner than he's looked in years.
Analysts estimate Apple's stock could plunge as much as 25% if Jobs were to unexpectedly step down from his job.
Jobs was treated four years ago for pancreatic cancer.
The Times says Jobs told board members he was now cancer-free, and had some nutritional problems that led to the weight loss.
