JOBS CUT IN FREMONT

Fremont - There will be about 530 fewer jobs in Fremont over the next few weeks. Most are with tech firms, including Lam Research, which is expected to cut about 150 positions.
Western Digital Media, which mades hard drives, will be letting about 107 employees go. In addition, Isola USA Tech is closing down completely, meaning nearly 50 people will be out of work.
Outside Fremont's tech sector, DHL package delivery is cutting 75 jobs, and Central Chevrolet is losing 30 workers, according the Alameda County sources.
