San Jose - The science of accessing the Internet is changing almost daily and Internet Service Providers are meeting in San Jose this week to discuss the future at the ISPCON Fall 2008.
At the conference, many companies are sharing ideas on how to survive during the current economic crisis. Two out of three ISP customers nationwide are signed up with large corporate providers, but the other third uses small, local companies to access the Internet.
Alex Goldman is an editor for ISP Planet. He says the smaller companies focus on customer service, cutting edge technology and higher internet speeds. He also says a lot of companies are looking for hardware products help them gain an advantage over corporate giants who bundle internet with phone and TV service. He adds that another hot topic in the industry is making the most of wireless applications.
The conference is taking place at the McEnery Convention Center through tomorrow.
