ALMADEN VALLEY -- Water officials in Santa Clara County have told the operators of the Calero Ranch Stables in Almaden Valley, they will have to move. The potential of horse waste running off into the nearby Calero Reservoir has water officials concerned.

The Santa Clara Valley Water District has given ranch leaders until October 31st of 2010 to find a new place to for the stables. The ranch is a haven for over one thousand local students and disabled children, where they learn riding techniques and husbandry.

Ranch officials say it will take five years to move the ranch and they hope the water district will push back their move out date.
