Gilroy - The school bus schedule in Gilroy will be going through a lot of changes for the next school year. The Gilroy Unified School District says it needs to cut down on its deficit and that altering the bus system will save $50,000.
It's the only school district in Santa Clara County that offers free transportation for student who live more than a mile away from their elementary school and more than two miles away from the middle and high schools.
A number of routes are being eliminated and will result in more than 250 students needing to find their own way to school.
200 more will have to board the buses at new stops.
