San Jose - A partnership has been announced between the San Jose Earthquakes and Tottenham Hotspur of the English Premiere League. The agreement is for an exchange of coaching expertise and marketing strategies along with the English side helping San Jose with its youth league development.
Quakes owner Lew Wolff thinks the link with a European team can attract local soccer fans who aren't attracted to the MLS.
The partnership will also include Tottenham and the Earthquakes likely playing against each other in both London and San Jose. Team managers from Tottenham say they want to learn about brand marketing in the US, which is the world's largest market for pro sports.
