Claudia Iseman

""     Claudia Iseman returns to 1590 KLIV following a 7-year absence and says, “It’s great to be back at San Jose’s all news station.”

Claudia has spent the last several years living in Santa Cruz County and working in news there.

Claudia is a hometown girl and graduated from Willow Glen High School where she got her first taste of journalism reporting for the “Rampages.”

“I have fond memories of listening to then 1600 KLIV on my transistor radio as a youngster,” Claudia said.

She went on to San Francisco State University and earned a degree in journalism and International Relations while also studying Italian. Her jobs in the news business are numerous, but her first paying position was as an associate producer for the CBS affiliate in Chico, where she wrote for the evening newscasts.

Claudia worked her way back to San Jose and worked as a freelance newswriter for KNTV and then part-time as an anchor and reporter for 1590 KLIV. She took some time off news to write her first novel titled “Cell Out,” which was published in July 2005 and in her spare time she’s trying to get her second novel, “The Cuban Castaway” published.

When she’s not reading and writing novels, Claudia enjoys playing tennis and jogging with her two Labrador Retrievers. Claudia is married to Steve Cannino and they have two teenaged children.

She has two heroes she looks up to; Hillary Clinton because of her tenacity in the face of adversity, and Bob Kieve for his willingness to express his “personal opinion” and making San Jose a more interesting place.
