COUNTY SUPERVISORS HOLDING WORKSHOPS ON BUDGET THIS WEEK
|
San Jose - Santa Clara County's budget for fiscal year 2009 will be the topic of discussion at a series of workshops this week.
The Board of Supervisors will be reviewing recommendations for the $4 billion budget.
County Executive Pete Kutras wants the Board adopt a plan that will address the County's $172 million deficit in the General Fund, which is used to support the Sheriff's Department, District Attorney's office, along with county jails and health care facilities.
Supervisors will also need to consider the possible impact of the State's budget, which could range from $43 million to $100 million.
The County will hold a second set of budget hearings next month. |
