COUNTY GREEN PROGRAM CONTINUES TO GROW
|
San Jose - A Santa Clara County program encouraging businesses to install solar panels and conserve resources is growing rapidly, and is on track to double in size again this year.
The county gives 'green' business certificates to companies that follow a strict checklist of eco-friendly measures.
The program has doubled in size each year since 2005, and this year, county officials say it looks like the trend will continue.
They've certified a total of 86 green businesses so far this year, and hope to end the year handing out another 86 or so certificates.
