CALPINE NARROWS NET LOSS
|
After emerging from Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in January, San Jose-based Calpine is reporting a first quarter net loss of $214-million or 44 cents a share... this in comparison to a net loss of $459-million or 96-cents a share for the first quarter in 2007.
Calpine says however, the per-share figures between the two periods are not comparable due to the recent reorganization.
Revenue was reported at 1.95-billion, up 17% from the same quarter last year.
Calpine says higher electricity prices and a slight increase in generation aided the quarter. |
