A popular 24-hour dining spot is closing up shop

There's one less place for a late-night or early-morning meal in San Jose.
After 20 years in business in San Jose, the popular Cardinal Coffee Shop and Lounge on Meridian near Hillsdale is closing its doors and going out of business on Sunday to make way for a new Rite Aid drug store.
It will literally be the first time the 24-hour restaurant has closed its doors since it opened in 1990.
